Sinopsis de GAUDI OF BARCELONA

Gaudí executed most of his works in Barcelona and his buildings had a decisive influence on the city s urban landscape. On the other hand, the city marked his oeuvre, for it must be remembered that architecture has invariably exerted an enormous specific weight in the urban and social history of the Catalan capital. Furthermore, circumstances would have it that Gaudí s life unfolded simultaneously with the evolution of the complex social and cultural phenomenon of Modernisme. The text by Lluís Permanyer and the photographs by Melba Levick provide us with the keys to an interpretation of the unique relationship between Gaudí and Barcelona on the one hand, and an informed, personal, fresh view of his architecture on the other.
