Sinopsis de LITERATURA HISPANOARABE

By the end of the 8th Century, Al-Andaluz had broken political ties with Bagdad, but the cultural ties remained. The Emirs of Córdoba allowed pilgrims to travel to Mecca. These pilgrims bought and brought books and lessons back with them so that the cultural currents between East and West were quite fluid. By the end of the 9th Century, the Arabic-Islamic culturization of Al-Andalus was a fact. Although the majority of Analusian literature is written in classical Arabic, an Hispano-Arabic dialect began to evolve in which jarchas (short codas to longer poems in early Spanish poetry), zéjeles (ancient Arabic poems) and refrains were written.
