In Earth's drive to spread out into the galaxy, humans have made many enemies. Currently, they're threatened by the hydrogues (because humans accidentally destroyed their home planet), the Ildirans (because they fear (wrongly) that Earth has plans of conquest), and their own robots. And when Earth manages to acquire allies amongst the other aliens, humanity may risk drawing nearer to, rather than avoiding, all-out galactic war.
