But when disabled veteran Shane MacQuaid shows up on her doorstep, needing shelter, she can't turn him away, so she offers him the apartment over her garage. The gentle giant has a mysterious history, but he quickly becomes indispensible in the town of Mistletoe Springs, due to his handyman skills. Unfortunately for Dani, he finds his way into the hearts of her children… and, soon enough, into her heart as well. Dani, Shane, and her kids quickly start to feel like a family, working around the house, going to church together, and helping out at the animal shelter. But when his past catches up with him, Dani learns that there is more to Shane than meets the eye.
